The title of the book "The origin of the power of wives" by Mir Emaddedin Farivar was questionable and tempting for me. My first reaction was asking myself: "Where is this power hidden? Is it in her speech? Is it in her kindness, in her behavior, in her apparent charms? Is it in her sex appeal, in her expression of love, in her seeking for relationships or paying too much attention to the details?
Where is it hidden? Is it in her fault finding and nagging? In her estrangement and friendship, in her power or force, in her motherhood and bringing up the children?
